First time meeting this guy..is it weird to bring my friend along?

Tell your friend this before hand, inform him that you are 'babysitting' them for the day, and they will tag along a bit. It might be better to save the movies for a different time, when you're alone, but maybe go bowling? good excuse to bring your friend, maybe convince them to double with someone they like?
