Why does god preach love for all his children but discrimates?

Personally, I don't care what gays do, just don't ask me to support it. I don't care if they get all the legal benefits of marriage, live together or whatever. But I personally believe that as a religious status, marriage is between a man and a woman and is ordained of God. I don't hate gay people, believe it or not, I've even got gay friends, that doesn't mean I support their actions though. Just like I love my uncle, but don't love the fact that he's usually drunk.
