Somethings wrong with my ipod?

Every time I plug my ipod touch into my ihome and press the play button( on the ihome ) it will play out of the Ipod's speaker and not the ihome's. I tried another docking pad and it does the same thing. Everything is plugged in and normal, it suddenly did this, because it worked fine before. Do you have any idea why it would be that way and how to fix it? The Ipod is only a month old.
