Does anyone know what's wrong with my xbox?

My xbox cant read any of my games i smacked it and cleaned the laser with the cd cleaner. and it worked when i put it in and when i turn my system off and turn it on it doesnt work anymore whats wrong and if somethings wrong how do i fix it for how much would it cost??
